DKV

Cologne

The extension of the DKV administration is a composition of many colours and materials: green Serpentino natural stone, rust-red Corten steel and green vegetation define the sophisticated outdoor facilities on Scheidtweiler Straße in Cologne. The work of our landscape gardeners spans multiple levels—ranging from the ground-level driveway and forecourt to the courtyards on the ground floor and up to the east and west roof terraces on the 5th, 6th and 7th floors, extending all the way to the 22nd floor in the “Tower.”

The sheer volume of materials used highlights the impressive scale of this project: by the time it is completed, around 100 tonnes of steel will have been welded, 1,000 tonnes of natural stone laid, 9,000 tonnes of base course material and 2,400 tonnes of green roof substrate and drainage layers installed. In addition, 38,000 plants will have been planted.
